Enjoy an afternoon of meeting Italian winemakers and learning more about Italy’s sparkling wine, Prosecco. The wines will be paired with appetizers created by Chef Thaddeus Palmese of the Starlight Wine Bar.
About the winemakers: Representatives from five wineries will be on hand at the event to pour and talk about their wines. The group is from the D.O.C. (Controlled Denomination of Origin) Prosecco di ConeglianoValdobbiadene, which has become Italy’s most popular and well-known region for this sparkling wine. Wine lovers throughout the world are quickly falling in love Prosecco’s refreshing, crisp and approachable flavor profile. Producers at the event include:

About the venue: Starlight Wine Bar and Restaurant is located in a beautifully restored Pullman train car in Sebastopol’s Gravenstein Station. Owners Ted and Heather Van Doorn, who met while working on the set of the movie Titanic, have lovingly restored the car to its original 1930s splendor. Two outdoor seating areas offer an al fresco experience.
About the Chef: Chef Palmese’s eclectic American fare reflects his background, having worked with culinary stars such as Emeril Lagasse and the Brennan family in New Orleans as well as James Beard award-winning chef Stephan Pyles in Dallas.
