The girls of Sonoma County Roller Derby are gearing up for their first home bout of the season, to bout… each other? That’s right, the North Bay Bruisers and The Wine Country Home Wreckers are battling out to be the winners of “The Battle for the County”.
Unlike the choreographed and over-dramatized roller derby of the past, the girls of Sonoma County Roller Derby play a fully organized, aggressive contact sport where nothing is faked. Spectators are invited to sit on the trackside floor seating (the opportunity for a roller girl and her eight wheels to land into your lap) or choose the safety of seats.
Roller derby offers more than your average sporting event, and appeals to fans of all ages. In addition to the action on the track, there will be halftime entertainment with music by DJ Noah D. 21 years and over are invited to enjoy the ever so famous beer garden.
If you haven’t got enough of the derby girls, 21 and over are invited to stay for the awards ceremony and after-party, where fans can meet and mingle with the girls of SCRD. The music of DJ Noah D. will continue on into the wee hours of the night.
Ten percent of the evenings proceeds will benefit United Against Sexual Assult of Sonoma County
